picture 1 300x180 Convention Centers in Google Earth and the GeoWebAs the GeoWeb evolves, vertical marketing becomes more relevant in presenting 3D, Web and Google Earth capabilities. This week, we illustrate the Long Beach Convention Center in 3D along with its surrounding attractions. One nice aspect to this content, unlike 99% of Google Earth content, is that it presents the property inside and out.

The video presents the convention center inside and out in Google Earth including: floorplan layouts, placemarks of the theater, and a ‘convention’ hotel. The intent is to 1) provide event planners with visual aids to make more informed site selection decisions 2) provide the convention management a marketing tool that integrates with maps and interior and exterior 3D 3) provide attendees with the best possible aids when choosing where to stay and where to go while attending an event.

Companies such as Disney have already leveraged these tools when presenting their convention properties to prospective exhibitors and tradeshow planners http://adisneymeetings.disney.go.com/media/dwm/en_US/media/tools/vsi/VSI.html

Step by step, the GeoWeb is finding uses for several vertical markets while finding its way ‘inside the model’.
